What year and in what city were you born.
1989, Shanghai, China.
Where are you based currently?
Oslo now. My wife is from Norway, so we moved to Oslo to live in 2021.
Please tell us about your current work.
Recently I have been trying to create a new series of works, a new conceptual art series. The main idea behind these works is to explore our relationship with the virtual world. With the rapid development of computer graphics and artificial intelligence technology, it is going to be a topic I want to explore for a long time to come.
What is your current identity (photographer, artist, creator, etc.)? Do you have an identity as a photographer? If you have been through other identities, please tell us about them as well.
I am a digital artist and also short film director.
How do you want your work to be shown (i.e., at an exhibition, online, in print, through publications, etc.)?
I want my work to be shown in exhibitions or at the cinema since my works are either contemporary art work or short films.
What is the final form of the work you ultimately aim for?
I want it to be shown on a big screen or projector if it's in an exhibition. However, some works are also nice to be shown in print form.
What genre has influenced you the most?
New media art.
If there's an artist you've found most interesting lately, who is it, and for what reason is he/she interesting?
Cho Gi-Seok, as his work has amazing visuals and also reflects many aspects of our world.
What does activity on social media platforms mean to an artist?
I think social media is a great place for artists to post their works and let people know more about them, especially when they are still unknown to the industry. It's also a good tool for making friends who have the same interests as you.
Was there a special occasion for you to get attention on social media?
Recently I released a short film where I collaborated with a friend, the Korean actor Lee Min-ho, which brought me a lot of attention on social media. if you haven’t watched it, you can find it on Minho’s youtube channel.
I would like to hear stories about you taking photos of someone, others taking photos of you, and you taking photos of yourself.
The people I mostly photograph, aside from myself, would be my wife. Whenever the weather is nice, I like to take photos of her when we go out, capturing moments to commemorate our time together. I personally don't take many photos of myself, but occasionally, after taking a shower and feeling refreshed with neat hair, I enjoy taking a selfie. As for others taking photos of me, it's even rarer. Usually, it happens during special events or when I'm at gatherings with friends.

최근 새로운 개념 미술 시리즈를 창작하는 데 집중하고 있다. 이 작품들의 주된 아이디어는 가상 세계와의 관계를 탐구하는 것이다. 컴퓨터 그래픽과 인공지능 기술이 급속도로 발전하고 있으니, 앞으로 오랫동안 탐구하고 싶은 주제가 될 것이다.
현재 당신의 정체성(포토그래퍼, 아티스트, 크리에이터 등)은 무엇인가? 스스로를 포토그래퍼로 정의하는가. 어딘가를 경유해서 지금의 정체성을 형성했다면 그 과정도 말해달라.
나는 디지털 아티스트이자 단편영화 감독이다.
당신의 작업을 어떠한 매체(이벤트, 전시, 출판, 프린트 등)를 통해 선보이기를 원하는가.내 작품은 현대미술 작품이나 단편영화이기 때문에 전시나 영화관 상영을 원한다.
궁극적으로 지향하는 최종 단계의 작업 형태는 무엇인가.
전시회에 출품한다면 대형 스크린이나
프로젝터로 보여주고 싶지만, 어떤 작품은 인쇄물로 소개해도 좋은 작품도 있다.

최근에 친구인 한국 배우 이민호 씨와 협업해 만든 단편영화를 공개했는데, 소셜 미디어에서 많은 관심을 받았다. 아직 보지 않았다면 민호 씨의 유튜브 채널에서 찾아 볼 수 있다.
누군가의 사진을 찍은 것, 다른 사람이 당신의 사진을 찍은 것, 그리고 스스로의 사진을 찍은 것에 대한 당신의 이야기를 듣고싶다.
나 자신을 제외하고 내가 주로 찍는 대상은 아내다. 날씨가 좋은 날 외출 했을 때 아내의사진을 찍고 순간을 포착해 함께한 시간을 기념하는 것이 좋다. 개인적으로 내 사진을 많이 찍지는 않지만, 가끔 샤워를 하고 깔끔한 머리로 상쾌한 기분이 들 때 셀카 찍기를 즐긴다. 다른 사람들이 내 사진을 찍어주는 경우는 더 드물다. 보통은 특별한 이벤트나 친구들 모임에서 그런 사진을 찍는다.
