Kohei Kawatani
An artist who is exploring the complexity between commerciality and artistry. He captures the joy that is visually primitive and original by using unpredictable and unique frames that bring out the delicate hues and details of objects. The first Japanese artist to win the first prize in the Kassel Dummy Award 2020, he also received awards from Japan Photo Award 2019, selected by Charlotte Cotton, and Tokyo Frontline Photoaward 2016. Currently, he is taking photographs for exhibitions and photo books while collaborating with various fashion brands such as Uniqlo, entertainment agencies, and magazines.
