Kazuhei Kimura

The artist began his career as a fashion photogra- pher and now works in various fields, such as music, film, and fashion. As a child, he had Alice in Wonder- land Syndrome, which caused perceptual distortions of his body parts and other objects, all of which ap- peared larger or smaller than they actually were. He incorporates his experiences into his photographs, creating mysterious scenes between the real and the surreal. He earned the Kimi Himeno (Kimi Himeno/ Director, Akaaka Art Publishing) Prize at the 19th 1_ WALL Photography Competition in 2018 and the Grand Prix at IMA NEXT #6 Black&White in 2019. He was featured in Hermès' documentary film Human Odyssey – A journey through creativity, which received much attention in 2021.

패션 포토그래퍼로 커리어를 시작한 그는 현재 음악, 영화, 패션 등 다양한 분야에 서 활동한다. 어린시절 자신의 신체 일부 또는 다른 대상이 실제보다 크거나 작아 보이는 등 지각적 왜곡을 느끼는 앨리스 증후군을 겪은 작가는 자신의 경험을 사 진에 녹여내며, 현실과 초현실 그 사이의 신비로운 장면을 만들어 낸다. 2018년 ‘제 19회 1_WALL’에서 키미 히메노(아카아카 출판사 디렉터)상’을, 2019년 ‘IMA 넥스트 #6 블랙&화이트’에서 그랑프리를 받았다. 2021년 에르메스 의 다큐멘터리 영화 휴먼 오디세이 - 창조의 여정에 출연하며 많은 관심을 받았다.
